DurationStudents come to the school from a variety of circumstances. They may be beginners, or have played in school music programs, or have picked up the instrument on their own.
These students are always welcome, and I tailor their assignments according to their level of ability, and what they wish to accomplish in taking lessons.
A beginner will progress step-by-step, learning how to produce a sound, hold the instrument and read music. Once these important basics are in place, progress will follow swiftly.
For the student who has played before a typical lesson will cover tone, technique, pieces and duet playing. There is a large body of truly excellent pedagogical material available, and plenty of fantastic standard repertoire to explore.
My main goal is to teach students to play well, to expose them to beautiful music, and to love to play the flute no matter when or how they started.
At the Toronto Flute School, we encounter a variety of requests regarding lessons: a family is interested in lessons for their child, a student wants to improve their skills for school or take a Royal Conservatory examination, a pre-professional wishes to prepare for a university audition, competition or masterclass, an adult is looking to take up the instrument for the first time or resume playing.

Instruction in flute, trumpet, trombone, clarinet, saxophone, bassoon and double bass is also available at the Hamilton School of Music
Flute Lessons are offered by Judy's Music School for all ages and skill level. Our specialty is to prepare students for all levels of RCM exams. However, if you  are not interested in doing RCM exams, we teach other styles as well.
Our private private instrument lessons are 30, 45 or 60 minutes per week (the duration is determined according to the level of the student)
The Windermere Music Academy in Edmonton offers flute lessons for kids and adults in an environment that is fun and welcoming. Our expert flute instructors have studied music academically to bring you the best lessons Edmonton has to offer.
