History of Skills4Work
Skills4Work is an organisation focussed on skill development across a range of industries and sectors and has a rich history which has transformed it into the organisation it is today.
The organization was first established in 1992 as a Private Training Establishment (PTE) within Foodstuffs and after its acquisition by Animation College in 2014 was re-established as an independent registered PTE in November 2016.
The organisation’s “Support Office” and purpose-built Training Centre are situated on Ronwood Ave in Manukau, Auckland. In August 2021, Skills4Work became New Zealand’s first Private Training Establishment (PTE) to undertake the arranging training function in Retail Butchery in line with the government’s mandated transition of all Industry Training Organisation’s (ITO).
Skills4Work is a niche provider in the New Zealand education sector. Being the only active NZQA accredited Private Training Establishment with the dual role of awarding the butchery qualification nationwide.
Skills4Work has the function of arranging training and manages the end-to-end apprenticeship process for both Butchery and Bakery apprentices across New Zealand.

A Passion for Developing Skilled People

To establish standards of professional practice for basic service in hospitality food and beverage establishments. Right from the start, you’ll be learning about the logistics of great service both to the customers at your tables, and to the team of chef’s you’re supporting.
Grow your understanding of the operational and managerial requirements of managing commercial hotel food and beverage departments.
If you have completed the New Zealand Certificate in Food and Beverage (Level 3) (Café Services) (Bar Services), or equivalent, or have six months experience as a Food and Beverage Attendant and wish to consolidate your qualification then this is the programme for you.
The course covers health and safety legislation and the License Controller Qualification (LCQ). Class trips to restaurants, hotels and food festivals to see new trends in the industry are included.
