Why study a Food Safety Supervisor course?
Under the Food Act 2006, every licensable food business in Queensland is required to have a food safety supervisor.
New food businesses are required to notify their local government of the name of their Food Safety Supervisor within 30 days of the issue of their licence. There are penalties for not having a Food Safety Supervisor present when you are providing food to the public.
When and where can I take the course?
Our courses run face-to-face for one full day, and include a workbook, morning tea and a light lunch. We hold them in Palmwoods, on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland, about once per month.
Our extensive experience overseas means that AIBI has formed relationships with several tertiary level Institutes in China and is committed to cross-cultural exchange studentships and Internships.
Effective delivery of Training Services is supported by a fully coordinated approach, using highly skilled and experienced personnel to manage the activities in each market segment.
AIBI strives to maintain a culture where staff choose to bring their imagination and commitment to work with them each day.
We are also the local accredited specialists in delivering the Queensland Liquor Licensing mandatory course for all approved managers of licensed premises — RMLV (Responsible Management of Licensed Venues), as well as the RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol), the RSG (Responsible Service of Gaming) and the FSS (Food Safety Supervisor). In addition, we provide a number of hands-on, practical courses such as menu costing, and managing budgets & financial plans.
We aim to be a staff supplier of choice for local business and hospitality operators and to offer a secure pathway to University studies for those who may have left school without completing their education and have already spent some time in the workforce.
Our method incorporates hands-on training and workplace experience, which enables students and employers to work together to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
A person holding an FSS certificate will know how to recognise, prevent and alleviate the hazards associated with the handling of food. The proprietor of an affected food business must ensure one person is appointed as FSS for the premises.
This course covers the legislative and cleaning requirements to maintain food-handling areas where the work does not involve direct food contact. This unit is not appropriate for a person who has direct contact with food, raw materials or ingredients.
Food safety supervision skill set will equip you with the skills and knowledge to safely handle potentially hazardous and ready-to-eat food during its preparation, distribution, service and sale.
Participants will gain the skills and knowledge required to apply good food hygiene practices within the hospitality and retail sectors.
