Assessment And Course Delivery
Assessment consists of theory (written) and practical demonstrations.
2 days face to face in small groups.
This unit is competency based. A logbook and or declaration of experience is encouraged.
Course are run on demand at our site at Burton.
Cost per participant includes learning materials, assessment materials (theory & practical) and issue of the statement of attainment. Tea, coffee and water are provided.
Course Objective
To provide participants with the skills and knowledge to conduct forklift operations in accordance with Safe Work Australia’s national standard for licensing persons performing High Risk Work.
Course Outcome
On successful completion participants will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for TLILIC0003 Licence to operate a forklift truck. In addition a Notice of Satisfactory Assessment (NSA) and Tax Invoice will be issued.
The tax invoice must be taken to a Service SA Customer Service Centre or an Australia Post photopoint outlet in South Australia within 60 days of the date of issue or it will expire.
You will need to take 100-point identification with original documents. Your Licence to Perform High Risk Work Card will be posted to you and it will expire and become due for renewal in 5 years.
The cost of the licence fee of $79.50 (payable at Australia Post or Service SA) is not included in the training and assessment fee.
Course Content
Plan work including WHS principles, calculation of load capacity and identify hazards
Conduct routine checks on the forklift
Shift loads in a safe manner at varying heights and positions
Shut down equipment and secure site on completion of operations
Pre-requisites / Clothing & Equipment Requirements
Students must be over 18 years of age.
Students must have driving experience and know how to safely drive a vehicle. i.e., currently hold or previously held a c class driver’s licence.
Photo identification must be provided upon enrolment in the course.
Students must be able to undertake basic mathematical calculations.
Students must be able to speak and understand basic English to communicate to a level in order to perform their duties safely.
Students must wear personal protective equipment while attending the course including long sleeve shirt, steel capped boots and long trousers.
Students must have a unique student identifier (USI) to obtain their nationally accredited certificate or qualification.
Students are required to read the learning materials (learner guide) prior to attending the course.

This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a boom-type Elevating Work Platform (EWP) where the length of the boom is 11 metres or more in accordance with all relevant legislative requirements.
In order to operate a telehandler, you need a telehandler license otherwise known as an TSHA Gold Card.
This unit of competency covers the skills and knowledge required to test the working atmosphere, using electronic test apparatus, to find out if it is safe for the proposed work.
Operators will be trained by experienced staff in the theoretical and practical elements of Excavator and Wheeled Front End Loader of Operations.
