This forklift course includes the theoretical and practical components to meet the knowledge and skills required to be able to safely operate a forklift truck for the high risk work licence class LF.
Participants will gain the following skills and knowledge:
Forklift types and uses
Load charts
Load types and characteristics
Lifting attachment types and uses
Be able to plan work and manage risks
Pre and post-start checks
Forklift licence safe driving techniques
Forklift stability
Shift and manoeuvre a variety of loads
Shutdown procedures and associated paperwork
Training and assessment is conducted at Site Skills Training facilities. Upon arrangement, training and assessment can be conducted at the premises of industry clients providing there are suitable industry training facilities.
Site Skills Training and Competency Training run weekly high risk work licence courses and qualifications designed to help you or your employees advance in mining, resources, oil, gas, construction and engineering industries.
This unit covers working at heights in the resources and infrastructure industries. It includes identifying the work requirements, the names and functions of equipment, components and materials including manufacturer’s instructions and specifications
It applies to situations where an individual may be required to carry out gas testing of an atmosphere prior to entering a specific area or workspace. The competency requires the person to interpret readings and take actions based on the interpretation.
Information for Employers - This training can be successfully delivered in a Workplace, provided the employer is fully aware of their roles and responsibilities, and can provide suitable facilities and equipment.Â
