This course focuses on safe practices and procedures for operating forklifts. It is a comprehensive classroom program suitable for both experienced and novice operators.
Employers are required under the Nova Scotia Occupational Health & Safety Act to provide training to all persons operating forklift equipment. This course focuses on safe practices and procedures for operating forklifts. It is a comprehensive classroom program suitable for both experienced and novice operators.
During the training participants will be instructed on the proper operating and safety procedures for forklifts. This classroom portion allows students to give feedback and participate in class discussion. During the class, the students will work in groups on case studies.
Upon completion of the classroom portion, students are given practical training and a practical operator assessment on a functional forklift. Upon successful completions of all portions participants will be qualified forklift operators.
Please note: Working in and around moving machinery present a hazard of injury to the foot. For this reason it is a requirement to wear approved safety footwear during the practical portion of training. Please come prepared.
The current TDG laws have been with us for over 30 years. Over that time, the training component has stayed very consistent. Well, that is all about to change!
Last year, the Canadian General Standards Board created a new standard - CAN/CGSB-192.3-2020: Transportation of dangerous goods training, assessment and competency. This new standard radically changes how TDG training should be done.
Transport Canada has now stated they will adopt the new standard into law, requiring employers to create new documents and upgrade the way they train anyone involved in TDG.

The operators are obligated to be trained on the equipment, usage, inspection and identification on potential risk (CSA B354.2-01 – Article 7.1)
This course is for a student whom has zero or minimal experience operating a Forklift (Industrial Lift Truck - Class 1, 4, 5).
You will learn how to implement a robust security infrastructure using commercial-grade equipment, implement a comprehensive IDS, plan and implement a robust enterprise firewall solution, and plan and implement a security policy in a multiservice network.
Many worksites will require practical, site- specific training (in addition to theory training) before a worker is certified to operate machinery.
