Course Details

Classroom Session Topics:

  • Occupational Safety and Health Act

  • Components of a forklift (Lift Truck)

  • Design characteristics of a forklift

  • Safety equipment

  • Battery power and forklifts

  • Operating controls

  • Data plates and decals

  • Proper handling of fuels

  • How to handle emergencies

  • Handling loads

  • Fundamentals of forklift operation

 

Practical Session:

  • Review and conduct an "Operators' Daily Pre-Shift Inspection" checklist.

  • Operating Evaluation based on good and safe operating techniques.

 

Further Course Information:

  • Once the course is successfully completed, Province Wide Safety Training Ltd will issue a diploma and wallet sized certificate to the operator on behalf of your company to be signed by the employer.

  • This course covers all Class of Forklift from I to VII (Including electric pallet jacks and rough terrain forklifts)

  • Forklift Operator testing will be done on the equipment used at your workplace, this is required by Manitoba Workplace Safety & Health in order for your operators to properly be trained and certified for your company.

  • Minimum class size is 4 for onsite training, or we can add your employees to a list for the next available course. 

  • Certification is valid for 3 years.
