Advantage Learning Solutions forklift certification course provides participants with the knowledge and skills required to remain safe and efficient on the job.

With a wide range of forklift training options, we know that we have the perfect forklift training certification course to suit your needs.

Forklifts are one of the most commonly used equipment types. This means that forklift accidents are also more common! That’s why forklift certification is a prerequisite in Canada. In order to operate a forklift, you need to be certified.

They are versatile machines that can be used for a number of applications. Industries such as forestry, warehousing, and construction all have specific jobs that require the use of a forklift.

Due to their versatility, to operate a forklift efficiently and safely, you need to understand everything about it. At Advantage Learning Solutions, we offer forklift training that covers all industry requirements.

In-class instruction is delivered with the help of multimedia presentations and includes group discussion. To pass the course, participants must successfully complete the examination. Testing is completed in two parts: a written component and hands-on practical demonstration.

Regardless of the industry you work in, we can provide you with the perfect onsite group forklift training solutions or single-participant forklift licensing courses.

How do you choose the right forklift training course?
The two main kinds of forklifts are counterbalanced (or sit-down) forklifts and narrow-aisle forklifts. There are many similarities between these two types of forklifts, but the main differences are their load capacities and application areas.

A sit-down forklift is able to lift heavier loads and has a cab for the operator to sit while operating the equipment. In comparison, a narrow-aisle forklift is primarily used in warehouse settings and other confined spaces. In this version, like its name suggests, the driver stands while operating.

Counterbalanced forklifts are a class 1, 4 or 5 while narrow-aisle forklifts are a class 2.

Topics Covered:

  • Identify the key characteristics of the forklift

  • Identify forklift-related items that must be checked in a pre-operations forklift safety inspection

  • Complete a pre-operation inspection checklist

  • Identify safe practices and hands-on training exercises

  • Identify safe practices for refueling of internal combustion equipment

  • Identify safe practices for battery care and recharging for electric lift trucks

  • State the procedure for becoming qualified to safely operate another forklift with different controls, fuel systems, and attachments.

Evaluation:

Knowledge testing that includes a written exam with a practical component where participants must demonstrate the use of the forklift.
