Unit Standard based training produces nationally recognized qualifications that ensure clear outcomes are recognized and awarded in a consistent manner.
Candidates who achieve the standards, gain credits which are recorded on the centrally managed Record of Achievement. Because the assessment standards are nationally agreed, candidates’ achievements can be recognized in a number of contexts such as working towards obtaining additional qualifications. All standards are developed by subject experts within a Standard Setting Body (SSB).

If you choose to go unit standard based, learners are enrolled with Skills and assessed by a Skills registered assessor. On successful completion of the course, results are reported by Skills to NZQA and recorded on learner's NZROA (New Zealand Record of Achievement).
You will receive an Operator ID card and electronic certificate as proof of your training and competency. Note, processing of certificates and cards can take up to 4 weeks. Non unit standard based training also receives an operator ID card and electronic certificate as proof of your training and competency.
