Our forklift and Walkie forklift operator courses cover all the essential aspects of how to be a safe forklift operator. The courses cover the operator’s health and safety responsibilities in the workplace as required by the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, as well as the requirements found in the Approved Code of Practice training Operator’s and Instructors of Powered Industrial Lift Trucks (Forklifts).
Our courses go further to include a large number of good practices and handy tips to make all types of forklift operation safe and effective. We cover components of the machine, operational checks, managing hazards in the workplace, capacity and stability and driving skills.
We run our courses like a toolbox meeting giving everyone a chance to participate and share their knowledge and experiences. You’ll watch a PowerPoint presentation during which you’ll complete a written assessment. After the theory part of the course, you’ll do a set number of practical tests to complete the course.
At the end of the course, successful participants will receive a A4 certificate and a wallet-sized certificate which remains current for 3 years. We’ll send you a reminder near the end of the 3 year period to let you know it is time to re-do the course to maintain currency of training.
While we will take complete beginners, we will not issue their certificate until they have had practice in the workplace and can demonstrate their competence by repeating the practical assessment at a later date. You can hire our forklift on an hourly rate to continue to learn and practice.
We don’t run set course times – we work with your time-frames and calendar.
