By the end of the class you’ll have a selection of sample pieces and have created your very own framed card to take away. Not artistic? No sewing experience? No problem! This fun, versatile technique has no rules and knows no boundaries, you are free to create with it as you fancy. Learn to use your sewing machine to create works of art.

This afternoon class explains how to drop the feed dogs on your machine and then work within a frame to create your own designs. We will also look at working with an embroidery foot.
Develop your technical skills of using embroidery to create stitch art in a contemporary way. Explore your thinking of textiles and embroidery and gain skills through embroidery techniques, textile materials and a variety of subject matter.
You will create your own design, framed in a display hoop. All materials are included in the workshop price. Our experienced tutor Helen will be able to provide lots of ideas, patterns and inspiration.
You will design and create your piece of hand-embroidered art. Ruth will bring images and examples of her work for you to use as inspiration and guide you through the process of creating your unique embroidery.
Using a variety of natural or delicately hand-dyed Nottingham Lace trims, you can create your own wall hanging or accessory from these beautiful materials. Learn how to add embellishments through beadwork and embroidery too.
