We offer English classes at various levels as well as a wide range of other languages, typically including Spanish, French, German, Arabic, Mandarin, Italian, Korean, Russian, Japanese and more on offer.
Our classes usually run for 10 weeks, taking place once a week on campus.
About Us
Our Story
The idea for the International Society arose back in 1966 when Eva Auerbach, a Chaplain at the University of Manchester, felt there was a need for an independent organisation to provide welfare and social support to international students.
Under the direction of Ms Anna Ford the Society was founded. From small beginnings of less than a hundred members we now have around 6,000 members from over 130 countries each year.

The International Society is a unique one of a kind, independent charity based in Manchester that has been celebrating cultural diversity and promoting global friendship for over 56 years.
We aim to provide international students with a warm and friendly welcome when they arrive in the city and to make their time in the UK a wonderful experience. Our activities including trips, classes, events, activities and volunteering opportunities are open to all.
While the majority of the Society’s members are international and British students studying at the universities and colleges in the city, many are people who have come to live and work in the UK, or members of the community interested in meeting people from all over the world. The Society is family-friendly and people of all ages get involved.
language class is offered by Amity College Limited.We offer a range of courses that will meet your needs, whether for business, further studies overseas or travelling.
Our French tutors are able to support your child/you with vocabulary, speaking and listening, confidence and exam preparation as well as learning for pleasure.
Parents across Europe are encouraging their children to learn another language from an early age. They send them to language academies at the weekend, after the school day or bring in a tutor and they learn French. How many language academies/after schools clubs exist here.
French as a foreign language is the second most frequently taught language in the world after English, the 3rd most frequently spoken non-English language in the US and the official working language in dozens of international organizations, including the United Nations, the International Olympic.
Private French lessons. Our team matches you with a French tutor in our network. Discuss your needs with our language team first, decide if you want to go ahead. All the logistics and arranging of lessons is handled by us.
