In 1883, French visionaries like Louis Pasteur and Jules Verne created an association with the goal of sharing the French language and culture. After more than a century, these ideals live on in more than 800 Alliances Françaises around the world.
Not only is this network the only language school recognized by the French government, but we are also recognized as one of the best places to interact with French culture. This dream came to Calgary in 1947, when the Alliance Française of Calgary (AFC) was founded.
The team of AF Calgary proudly continues on this mission, serving each of the 1,200 students that come every year to learn and have a good time with us in our classes and cultural events, as well as borrow books from the largest fully-French library in Western Canada.
Did you know that there are almost 8 million French speakers in Canada? Although approximately 85% of them live in Quebec, there are over a million who reside in other parts of the country, which means if you live in Canada, you probably come into contact with the language on a daily basis.
Our French curriculum does not only satisfy the Quebec Ministry of Education’s requirements for effective oral and written communication but our courses go beyond spelling, grammar and syntax by imparting knowledge on Quebec’s culture.
We specialize in teaching sector-specific vocabulary in the appropriate cultural context for your industry. For a better experience, we also offer flexible scheduling based on your objectives and availability.
This workshop – level 1 of a series of 2 – will allow you to review basic grammatical concepts and overcome the most common difficulties by engaging in appropriate exercises and benefiting from practical advice from an experienced trainer.
The Eastern Quebec Training Center has over 25 years of experience in teaching French as second languages. We are recognized for the excellence of our courses centered on customer needs and satisfaction.
