You'll also have complete access to our wonderful range of resources to help continue learning & practicing French at home, including DVDs, Comics, and a great French library, as well as the Institut Francais Culturetheque, an online multimedia library.
French Language Classes
Cost: $165 per term + $20 for Workbook
Ideal for people who wish to learn and improve their skills in the long term. Classes offer a complete program following a textbook that includes oral and written comprehension, speaking exercises and some grammar.
The Alliance Française is a worldwide, non-profit network of associations dedicated to promote French language and culture abroad.
The first Alliance was founded in Paris in 1883. There are now 1081 Alliances Françaises in 135 countries including 11 in New Zealand, teaching 400,000 students of French at all levels.
The Alliance Française Dunedin
The Alliance Française Dunedin is a center for the French language and French culture. Although some of our events are in French, most are bilingual. Members do not have to be fluent in French to take advantage of our various activities.
Alliance française de Dunedin is an accredited centre for DELF/DALF examinations. Please contact us if you have any queries.
What Do We Offer
French classes are offered for all levels and ages (from 1 y.o onward) all year round. The classes give the opportunity to learn and practise a contemporary and useful French in a small group or on a one on one basis.
These classes usually take place in our premises but can be held as well outside the Alliance.
Regular Social Events
Regular events are organised and we promote French language and culture through conferences, talks, meetings with artists, concerts, dinners, breakfasts “à la Française.

French Movies
French movies galore with the French Film Festival, outings to see French movies at Rialto Cinemas, French documentary season, screenings at the AF clubrooms and the Library lending movies to members.

This is an introductory French language course suitable for absolute beginners. We cover basic vocabulary, grammar, conversation, and getting around in French-speaking countries.
