French courses are offered by Ecole Du Samedi French School Atlantic so you can Learn French the French Way
Ecole du Samedi aims to create a comfortable, interesting and engaging atmosphere in which children with French-speaking backgrounds or a desire to learn French may practice and perfect their language skills.
Our courses enrich and challenge children of all proficiency levels from beginner to native because they include language instruction as well as cultural and civilization components that draw from all subject disciplines.
We offer Native and Non-Native programs Ecole du Samedi.
Native Programs
Courses in the native track are rooted in the principles of the immersion approach. The curriculum is supported by age-appropriate texbooks approved by the Ministère de l’Education Nationale.
Students entering our native track typically are either native speakers of French who use the French language as the main language communication in their home, or they have existing knowledge of the French language that enables them to function in an immersion classroom where French is used to support content instruction. Some of these students have been enrolled for at least a year in a French school in a French speaking country or in the French track in an International School.
Non-Native Programs
Courses in the non-native track follow a sequential curriculum based on immersion program principles. This supports the development of proficiency in non-native speakers. Class sizes are limited to twelve students to ensure all students receive the instruction they need.
Students entering our non-native track are typically true beginners or have a limited knowledge of the French language that would not enable them to function in an immersion classroom where French is used to support content instruction.
Although the level of proficiency will vary for each student, students should expect to experience a growth in their language skills as they progress through the curriculum at Ecole du Samedi.
