Course Details

Our specialised confined space training adheres to best practice and will provide you with the necessary knowledge and skills to work safely. The training is comprised of the selection and operation of safety and respiratory equipment, hazard identification, risk management and emergency procedures. Also covered is all required documentation, entry permits and atmospheric testing.

Attendees, having successfully completed this training, can apply Health and Safety legislation and the best practice to Confined Space identification, planning, entry and atmospheric testing.

They are able to plan, prepare, communicate and complete associated documentation for Confined Space work including the required permits, hazard & risk analysis and atmospheric testing.

They are able to use a gas detection device and interpret test results to determine a safe working environment and maintain personal safety and the safety of others.

 

Learning Intentions:

  • Identify and describe confined spaces by their type, definition, required documentation and communication.
  • Identify and explain the hazards and risks, including atmospheric conditions and testing, within a confined space and their appropriate control measures.
  • Explain the duties and responsibilities of persons conducting confined space work and observation activities.
  • Complete required confined space atmospheric testing and documentation.
