STRIVE Future Leaders (SFL), our young adult program model was designed as a multi-component program for youth and young adults, ages 18-24.
The program focuses on workforce training, career exploration, educational enrichment, and work experience, delivered by staff trained in delivering program services and cultivating an environment of positive youth development.
The program model is enhanced through case management, mentoring, community service projects, and financial capability education.
A key goal for SFL is to increase labor market involvement and educational attainment for young people who've had involvement in the criminal justice system. Moreover, SFL seeks to increase self-efficacy and civic engagement and reduce criminal involvement.
Since 2012, STRIVE successfully secured multiple funding awards from the U.S. Department of Labor that allowed us to serve young adults impacted by the juvenile and adult justice systems residing in low-opportunity neighborhoods across the STRIVE partnership network. Below are some of the highlights of our program's successes since 2017 .

This course explores strategic thinking and planning as key leader skills, and culminates in the creation of an actual strategic plan. Students will also learn how organizations can cultivate leadership at multiple levels and become more effective in generating and executing strategy.
