Course Details

It is an interactive and activity-based program, using real-world scenarios, that provides students practical knowledge and skills relating to carry out the risk management process.

As determined by the Mining Safety and Health Advisory Committees, the G2 unit of competency is a statutory requirement for certain high-level occupational categories in coal and metalliferous miming (e.g. Open Cut Examiners). It is not a mandatory requirement for supervisors, however some mining companies have made an organisational policy decision that requires their site-based supervisors to hold the G2 competency (along with Mining Supervisor S123 / G189 accreditation).

There are no course entry requirements, no pre-course study and no-post course evidence to provide.

We have incorporated G2 into the first day of our 2-day S123 / G189 program – it is module 1 (Risk Management Process) of the 3-module program. Therefore, students who successfully complete the ‘Risk Management Process’ module will be issued a Statement of Attainment for the following units of competency:

  • Townsville Branch

    327 Bayswater Road, Townsville
