Objectives
This unit of competency covers the skills and knowledge required to test the working atmosphere, using electronic test apparatus, to find out if it is safe for the proposed work.
It applies to situations where an individual may be required to carry out gas testing of an atmosphere prior to entering a specific area or workspace. The competency requires the person to interpret readings and take actions based on the interpretation.
This unit of competency applies to an individual working alone or as part of a team or group and working in liaison with other shift team members and the control room operator, as appropriate.

Assessment
A candidate cannot be deemed competent unless they are able to demonstrate competency in all assessments. Each candidate has a maximum of two additional opportunities to demonstrate competency without additional fees applying.
Language, Literacy, and Numeracy Support
Breight Education provides appropriate learner support to all students through its assessment delivery, applying reasonable adjustment to assessment where the student experiences learning difficulties.
A Language literacy and numeracy assessment will be requested prior to the commencement of the course in order to determine if any additional support is required.
Programs and materials can then be adjusted to support the candidate if needed. All reasonable adjustments are carried out in a manner that maintains the integrity of the unit of competency.

The Work Safely at Heights course focuses on the training and assessment in skills to perform work with a harness at heights. This may include working on an elevated work platform, roof, structure or any area where a fall hazard exists.
This Qualification may be suitable for experienced personnel with a background in site supervision and those who are fulfilling Safety Representative roles within their organisation and wish to complete the Certificate III in Work Health and Safety.
We offer two courses – RIIWHS202E – Enter and work in a confined space & MSMWHS217 Gas test atmospheres in the same program. Our program uses our purpose built confined space structure which includes entering a rainwater tank while using an inertia reel, tripod and winch
This unit covers the competency required to confine small workplace emergencies. Small workplace emergencies may include such incidents as a small fire that can be controlled using a nearby fire extinguisher; or a chemical spill.
The course covers the Safety Rules and Regulations & how to operate the Scissorlift. The Question and Answers will need to be picked up from our office once booking is confirmed
