Why Learn English at St Giles?
There are many reasons why people choose to study English. Whether you want to learn for travel, to enhance your career or work life, for further study or just for fun, we can help you learn quickly and effectively!
All teachers at St Giles International must have, as a minimum requirement, a recognised certificate for Teaching English as a Foreign Language, for example the Cambridge CELTA or the Trinity Cert. TESOL or equivalent, as well as a University degree.
In exceptional circumstances, we may employ teachers who do not possess one of the above qualifications, if in our opinion they may be reasonably deemed to be appropriately qualified or experienced.
An experienced tutor doesn’t talk excessively when explaining concepts. Rather, the tutor asks the student questions in order to elicit a response, thereby increasing student involvement and ‘talk time’.
Our General English program is designed for students who want to focus on communication and conversation skills, and who do not plan to go on to further studies at an English-speaking institution.
The best of both worlds! A day in the Intensive ESL program begins with our General ESL class, followed by a specialization of your choice to focus on speaking or writing. The perfect choice for students dedicated to learning English fast!
This program is mainly designed for students who wish to improve their English speaking ability and pronunciation. Students will learn how to use various language structures in real-life speaking situations.
CLLCs rigorous curriculum is founded on a number of external EAL criteria such as the Canadian Language Benchmarks, TOEFL, and IELTS. All GE schedules include a Plus One class. The Plus One class allows students to choose a variety of topics that cover multiple interests or academic skills.
