The TIES General English Course has been designed for students from a range of English language proficiency levels and with a diverse range of personal language objectives.
All students are encouraged and supported in developing their English language proficiency at TIES so that they leave TIES more effective communicators in English and are better prepared to make choices for their future.
Students are tested on arrival to ascertain the most appropriate level of entry into the course from Beginner/Elementary to Advanced. Students may also begin on any Tuesday during school terms and study at TIES from five weeks to fifty weeks.
At TIES we are constantly searching for innovative and creative ways to make your education and experience at TIES the best it can possibly be. After extensive market research we identified an opportunity to create a learning environment that is unique in Australia and even the world.
The TIES educational structure evolves around a four day week, allowing students to enjoy a 'long weekend' every week. Condensing our courses into intensive four day modules allows TIES students more opportunities to learn through cultural immersion. Click here for more information.
TIES courses are tailored to suit your needs and individual requirements. Once you have completed the enrolment process, TIES will send you a questionnaire that will provide us with information about your requirements. TIES courses provide many different pathways or 'choices waiting to be made'.
We aren't the biggest English School in Australia, and we never aim to be. We do, however, offer a unique learning environment. TIES is a boutique language school, which means that we are small, but prestigious, and offer personalised attention to our students.
Being a boutique school doesn't mean that we are overly expensive, and in fact, we feel that our pricing structure is extremely reasonable given the quality of education we offer. Compare our course costs to any other school in Australia and you will see what we mean.
Through exploring a theme, discussing and reading together, new words, phrases and concepts in English are taught in a fun and relational way. Our conversations are thought provoking and far-ranging so you can grow in confidence no matter how long you have been speaking English.
Southern English College’s primary goal for General English students is to prepare them to communicate successfully in English outside the classroom. The 72-week General English course (6 levels x 12 weeks) is designed to develop autonomous learning through student-centered activities.
