Class Experience
Participants work with their classmates and the instructor during class towards developing their beginning listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in an immersion setting; all class activities are conducted primarily in German. The three A1-level courses are for those who are looking to learn German from the beginning in a formal setting.
Those who fully participate in and complete A1.1, A1.2, and A1.3, typically over the span of 3 semesters, will ideally be prepared for the A1 Goethe Exam, recognized globally as proof of German language ability. Read more here about the Goethe Institute and their language exams.

Homework
Participants work through activities in the workbook, which supplement the content from class lessons. Participants should expect to spend at least an equal amount of time outside of class in addition to weekly class meetings. Work in the workbook is checked independently via an answer key.

The German Language Academy is a leading institution that specializes in teaching the German language. Our academy offers a structured curriculum that encompasses all aspects of language acquisition, including grammar, vocabulary, speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
