German is the language of 110 million native speakers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and is by far the most widely spoken language in Western Europe. Economically and scientifically, German ranks among the three most important world languages.
The contributions of the German-speaking countries to Western culture have been tremendous with the accomplishments of the great German-speaking artists, philosophers, musicians, athletes, writers and scientists including: Goethe, Beethoven, Mozart, Wagner, Einstein, Freud, and today, Arnold Schwarzenegger.
German is essential for students interested in Philosophy, the Natural Sciences, Economics, History, Music and the Fine Arts. Learn German and get to know the new unified Germany as well as historic Austria and beautiful Switzerland.
With members from all areas around San Diego County and beyond we are offering a home with a German atmosphere to our many members, friends and the community. Our Club house and our events like Dinner Dances, Anniversary Ball, New Year’s Gala, Choir Concerts, and Karneval Events are open to the public.
You might know our famous “El Cajon Oktoberfest” and our annual Maifest. But we have so many more activities for you to enjoy, like Damenkreis (ladies’ circle), Karneval (German Mardi Gras), Germania Choir, our Skat afternoons (German card game), KinderTanzGruppe – children’s dance group, Schützen, ZZFC and German Theater Group.

For those whose interest isn’t Spanish, we also offer several other languages such as French, Chinese, Japanese, Italian, German, Portuguese, Arabic, Hindi and more.
We offer a wide range of courses according to the proficiency level of the students, from beginner to advanced. We are committed to a communicative as well as task-based approach.
German is a Category II language. It takes on average 35 weeks of full-time training to reach a limited working proficiency (ILR level 2). The exact time needed will depend on many factors.
German classes are offered to students from beginner to Intermediate to Advanced level by professional and experienced instructors.
