Basic Alterations:

Get to know the basics of sewing and garment construction with this introduction to sewing skills and theory! Over the course, students will become familiar with different machine stitches and their functions; how to follow basic patterns; the correct use of chalk, rulers, scissors, and pins; different hand seams and finishes; and attaching buttons, hook-and-eye closures, and elastic. You can learn on our machines or bring your own! With rich experience in teaching sewing classes to a wide variety of students, Lana Gerimovich teaches you a simple, easy class where you’re sure to gain basic sewing skills!

Basic Sewing:

This class helps you become comfortable doing basic alterations on your own. The topics include taking seams apart and adjusting seams on shirts, jackets, dresses, pants, skirts, and other garments. Finally, you will finish that pair of pants you’ve been wanting to shorten, or that dress or shirt you’ve always wanted to take in!

Intermediate Sewing:

This course is an in-depth learning experience covering advanced topics such as high-level sewing techniques, pattern drawing, in-depth tailoring and alterations, advanced creating of drapery and home decor accents, and specialized machine knowledge. Your basic sewing skills will advance to a professional level, guaranteed!
