The guitar is a very popular string instrument that also has the great advantage of being portable. We teach both the acoustic and electric guitar at Encore School of Music.

For kids who are interested in learning the guitar but are still too young, the ukulele (which is like a small guitar) is a great place to start.

At Encore School of Music, we can teach you how to:

Play different genres of music; classical, jazz, pop, rock, etc.
Play chords on the guitar; once you know your chords, you will be able to play lots of songs!
Smoothly transition from one chord to another on the guitar
Do strumming or plucking
Play lead guitar
Learn different techniques like slides, thrills, tapping, hammer ons, etc.
Listen to the song and feel the rhythm so you can master strumming patterns
Read guitar tablature and chord diagrams
Tune your guitar and change its strings
How to play in time
