Do you want to learn how to play the guitar? Whether you are a beginner or advanced guitar player, our instructors can help you on your path to learning.
The recommended age range to start guitar lessons at our studio is 7 - 8 years old. Learning the guitar can be challenging and requires lots of practice.
Getting started on the guitar, students will find getting their fingers accustom to playing the strings can take time and they will need to toughen up their fingers in order for it to become more comfortable. Therefore, practicing daily is very important!
When beginning guitar lessons the students will start out learning simple notes on the guitar, move on to simple chords and put it all together to play some songs.
Another method used in guitar is the tablature method but learning notes and chords is important and is part of learning basic music theory. For students that have already studied piano, they will find learning the guitar will come easier when it comes to reading the music and understanding the chords.
For the younger student, we recommend they start on a 3/4 size Classical style (nylon strings) guitar. These types of strings are easier on the fingers. You could also start on a 3/4 size Acoustic style (steel string) but it may take longer for the fingers to "toughen" up using this type of guitar.
Music Quarters is a family owned and operated music lessons studio located in the South Charlotte community. Opening in 2008 at the Colony Place Shopping Center located at Colony and Rea Roads, Music Quarters has became a music school of choice for many reasons.
The Presley Family lived and grew up in the neighborhood where Music Quarters is located so opening a business in this area felt like home. Music was a big part of the Presley's childhood starting to play around the ages of 8 and 9 years old and still play today as professional musicians.
Our goal as a company is to offer “quality music lessons” to students of all ages and all levels to help promote the passion of music in people’s lives. To accomplish that goal, hiring the right music instructors and music educators is key in providing a quality music education.

Whether it be your child or yourself, learning how to play an instrument is fun and can be a life changing experience. Music is something that will stay with you all of your life.
