We incorporate multiple techniques such as visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning programs as well site-specific learning.
This is a one-day course intended for all workers in the petroleum industry who could be exposed to hydrogen sulfide (H2S). The primary focus is to provide generic H2S course content to help workers work safely in and around H2S environments.
Course starts at 8:00 a.m. Students who are late will be refused admission.
Government issued photo ID is required.
There are no prerequisite courses required to attend H2S Alive.
Each student is required to operate a self-contained breathing apparatus and a detector tube device, and rescue lift and drag exercises.
Comfortable clothing is recommended.
There is a closed book exam at the end of the course that must be passed with a score of 70% or higher.
Upon successful completion of a written examination and demonstration of the required skills, successful candidates will receive a certificate valid for 3 years.
An industry standard certificate valid for three years is issued directly by Energy Safety Canada.
