Hair cutting

This program is designed to provide students with theory and practical skills necessary to become a licensed Barber and practice in the field. This program is a comprehensive study through lecture and practical experience, which provides the basic training in Florida laws and rules.

In this course, students are trained and can expect to learn how to cut, color, and style both men's and women's hair.  This course is slightly different than the full cosmetology course.  Hair Design students learn the art of hairstyling.

The primary objective of the Barbering Program is to prepare students for the state licensing examination to become a licensed Barber. A licensed barber’s opportunities include working in beauty salons, resort hotels and the opportunity to own his or her own salon.

In the Barbering Program you will learn the study of hair and its many forms and structures. Through hands on training, you will discover the different types of hair and facial hair as it pertains to ethnicity, curliness, thickness, and manageability.
