Hakka Abacus Seed. A traditional Hakka dish.  This auspicious dish is popularly cooked during festive occasions as the abacus seeds signify wealth and reunion.

Using yam and tapioca flour, rolled into round balls with a small depression in the middle that resembles that of the abacus. When cooked, it should be soft and chewy, and normally cooks with dried shrimps, minced meat, chinese dried mushrooms, etc.
