Description
This training course is based on the National Unit of Competency RIISAM203D: Use Hand And Power Tools. This course covers the use of hand and power tools in the resources and infrastructure industries.
It includes planning and preparing for work, selecting and using hand tools and power tools, and cleaning up.
This course covers the following topics;
Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with SOPs
Identify job requirements from specifications, drawings, job sheets or work instructions
Select power tools appropriate to the task requirements
Use power tools for a determined sequence of operations to produce desired outcomes to job specifications
Identify unsafe or faulty tools and mark for repair before, during and after use according to SOP
Undertake operational maintenance of tools according to principles, techniques and SOPs
