About Milan Academy
Our Story
Milan (n) – kind ( The more positivity, love and light you reflect, the more light is mirrored your way )
Lakshmi Dhandapani, Founder of Milan Academy of Arts, was a homemaker. In the 1990s, she looked for some independent income, with which she can buy little goodies for her kids. Thus, her journey started as a sales rep for a kitchenware brand and she also went on to become an insurance adviser.
During this time, she went on to meet a lot of women, who were dependent on their Fathers/ Husbands for financial support. Being an enthusiastic person, she was eager to contribute to the society by doing her part. When she broke all odds to become one of the Top Achievers in India, bagging awards from IRDA for achieving COT & MDRT, she realized that there are millions of women like her, who have the potential to achieve more if they go beyond the usual limits set by the society.
The need for good education centers in the city led her to set up an institute that would train and equip women with skills in a professional field- with the independence they rightly deserve. In collaboration with NCFT Heights Educations and skilled professionals, Fashion designing courses were offered for aspiring young women.
Thanks to the warm patronage of the people for NCFT Heights since 2016, she has been encouraged to launch Milan Academy of Arts to provide courses with a hands-on approach, to create talented beauticians, fashion designers, and artists of tomorrow.
"The building block of Milan Academy of Arts is a strong value that “Educating women is a basic necessity.”
Milan is all set to make a mark in the field of education by creating a positive change in lives of women, by helping them to be successful and to live an independent life.
“You educate a man; you educate a man. You educate a woman; you educate a generation.”
