FCATC is one of the original accredited firearm training providers and a Lead Service Provider with Professional Firearm Trainers Council (PFTC) to service the needs since 2004.
Prospective firearm users/owners must be declared competent in the knowledge, practical safe and responsible ownership of a firearm before applying for a competency certificate.
A competency certificate is the first requirement before applying for a firearm licence with the South African Police Service.
FCATC was established in terms of the Firearms Control Act 60 of 2000 to fulfil this role.
Our training centre offers foundational knowledge modules to understand the legal and responsibilities of firearm ownership as well as practical skill modules to demonstrate the safe handling and use of a firearm. Successful candidates will receive a certificate validating internal assessment criteria was met. The achievement will be acknowledged by a Statement of Results issued by the quality assurance body.

Firearm training is offered by Wildealskloof Shooting Range. Knowledge of the Firearms Control Act 60 of 2000, Basic Handle and Use a Handgun, Self-loading Rifle, Shotgun, Manual Operated Rifle. All these unit standards are as required for a competency certificate to possess a firearm.
This course is usually run over 3 days. Assessment will take place at the end of the course. An ability to communicate in English at the level of NQF 3 (Standard 8) is required. Copies of evidence of this must be submitted on booking this course.
Nu-Law is accredited by SASSETA (Safety and Security Seta), PFTC (Professional Firearms Trainers Council) and the SAPS (South African Police Services) to offer Skills Program in Firearms.
