Description
This class is intended for quilters who do NOT own their own machine and want to complete their quilts with an overall computerized design. (This is NOT the class for those who want to complete a custom design or work in free motion quilting.) Overall Quilting classes start at 8 a.m. and end at 5.p.m. We start with design choices, thread color, backing prep and loading the machines.
There will be an orientation/review of the quilting process. The rest of time is yours to complete as many quilts as you can. Staff is always available to help you in the process. Most of our new quilters complete 3-6 quilts in the 3 days (depending on the size they bring in.)
Returning Students dive right into loading and quilting. Schedule as many days as you like ($500 for 3 days – Save $100). Quilt as many quilts as you have knowing that staff is present to answer your questions. This class is scheduled at your convenience.
About Us, How to Contact Us, How to Find Us
Page Johnson is a professional Statler longarm quilter from Minnesota. Quilting all her life, she began her professional career in early 2003.
She works full time for customers and is experienced in both freehand and Gammill Statler Stitcher computerized quilting. Over the years her award winning quilts have gained her national recognition in shows and publications.
Page has been a Statler Creative Studio Trainer, and teaches several quilting classes at shows and private studios throughout the country. Her style can best be described as an “off the wall and out of the box” quilter. She frequently states, "Quilting is like cooking, just because you have a stove doesn’t mean you can cook. There is also a difference between Macaroni and cheese and cheese soufflé”. One of her greatest joys is to challenge herself to find new ways to see how she can use Creative Studio to its utmost potential.
Page’s newest adventure is Tutorial videos for Creative Studio Quilters. The Mini Videos posted on Facebook and the website Home page a free educational piece of less than 15 minute. Page uses the mini videos to provide an overview of the techniques used in the featured quilt or project. She also has longer videos (1-2 hours) available for purchase that provide focused demonstrations on specific techniques, such as the Page Turner concepts. These longer presentation/ videos have in-depth information and often include projects for you to practice the techniques on.
Over the years Page has added a number of staff members. From office assistance to custom quilting, each staff member is trained in Page's techniques and provides assistance to each other and students in the studio. With direction and planning/layout by Page each quilt gets the personal attention "to do it right".
