NPORS 723 – Harness and Fall Arrest course is designed to provide individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to work safely at height. This course covers key topics such as relevant legislation and regulations, identification and inspection of equipment, selection of appropriate anchor points, conducting risk assessments, and safe working practices including rescue procedures.
Theory Modules:
A Basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities.
A working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the particular harness / fall arrest to be used
The Ability to locate and identify major components of the Harness / Fall Arrest and explain their functions
How to Conduct all safety checks in accordance with manufacturer’s and legislative requirements.
Selecting suitable types of Harness / Fall Arrest relative to the work being undertaken.
Identifying and maintaining PPE appropriate for use Harness / Fall Arrest and demonstrate correct use
Correct fitting and removal the safety Harness / Fall Arrest.
Carrying out end of work inspections.
Environmental considerations.
Storage of Harness / Fall Arrest.
