Course Details

Recognizing, evaluating and controlling hazards are the basic building blocks of any health and safety management system. Hazards cause incidents and injury – controlling hazards prevents incidents. It’s that simple. This course will assist you to understand the importance of hazard awareness and risk associated as well as help you to:

  • Identify hazards.

  • Evaluate hazards by assessing risk.

  • Control hazards.

This workshop is designed to include you as much as possible in the learning experience. You’re not just going to learn about hazards and risk – you’re going to look for hazards and assess their risk in real-life situations.

The more you contribute, the more you will get out of this training, so please don’t hold back. Participate and have fun. When you have completed this course, you will:

  • Understand why identifying hazards and managing risk are important for workplace health and safety.

  • Understand the importance of identifying hazards specific to a site for continuing health and safety.

  • Be able to identify various types of hazards.
