Hazardous Chemicals Control & Safety Handling

Employer must provide their employees with information and training regarding hazardous chemicals in their work areas. This information and training must be given at the time when the employee’s was first assigned to the job or whenever a new hazard (including a process changing) is introduced to the work area.

All employees who are, or may be potentially exposed to hazardous chemicals under normal work condition, or in foreseeable emergency, must be provide with the required information and training before beginning to work in the area that contains hazardous chemicals.

?Employees must be provided with information on how to identify the potential hazards’ the physical and health hazards of the chemicals used in the work areas and the measures employees can take protect themselves from the chemicals hazards.

At the end of the course, participants will be familiar with:

• Legislative requirements related to safe chemical handling to prevent workplace accidents
• Chemical hazards and their associated risks
• Safe work practices and emergency procedures when handling chemicals
