The aim of this course is to equip you with the knowledge and skills and insight to be able to identify a hazardous material incident. Further, it will teach you how to deal with public safety concerns surrounding a hazardous material scene.
Learn how to conduct an investigation into workplace incidents at NQF level 3 and 5 credits. Training duration is 50 notional hours.
Participants to this training skill should be able to handle and store hazardous/dangerous goods in accordance with national and international statutory requirements and standards.
Learners should be able to comply with the relevant legal documentation requirements. They should be able to apply safety and standard operating procedures during, loading, off-loading and in event of an incident.
Learners accredited with this unit standard, namely handling hazardous chemical substances (Hazmat) will, on completion of the training course, be able to monitor, advise and report on the scope and understanding of the specified requirements regarding hazardous substances in the workplace.
