Working together to create a safer environment for all workers is not a new trend. In 1833, the British Parliament passed into law the first recorded piece of legislation that was designed to protect the health and safety of workers.
This workshop has been designed to teach participants their role as workplace Health and Safety Representatives.
After successfully completing and passing this course, participants will receive their record of training (ROT).
Who Should Attend:
Any business operating in the Province of Ontario with 5 to 19 employees, must have a Health and Safety Representative to oversee the development, implementation and monitoring of its health and safety programs.
What You Will Learn:
Upon the successful completion of this safety training program, participants will understand:
The legislative requirements (Government Regulations, CSA Standards and Manufacturers’ Guidelines and Principles);
The duties and responsibilities of all workplace stakeholders;
The role of a health and safety representative;
The role the Ontario Ministry of Labour plays in enforcing the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
After This Workshop You Will Be Able To:
Conduct a hazard evaluation and recommend a control measure;
Assist in the development of effective health and safety programs;
Perform a monthly workplace inspection;
Conduct an accident investigation;
Maintain a Health and Safety Communication Board;
Monitor your health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the Act.

This course is for a student whom has zero or minimal experience operating an Overhead Crane.
