Course Description
Health and Safety Representatives (HSR) give workers a voice when it comes to health and safety at work, qualifying them to gather and disseminate information and resolve safety issues and breaches within the work place.
This initial HSR training course from Kallibr Training (RTO 32365) provides participants with the skills and knowledge to fulfil the role of a Health and Safety Representative as well as meeting all legal requirements as per prescribed legislation.
The members of a work group elect their own HSR. The term of a HSR/deputy HSR is three years.
HSRs must undertake an approved HSR training course within three (3) months of their election from an accredited training provider. Those who do not complete an approved HSR training course within the designated time frame must step down and be replaced.
What Is Health And Safety Representative?
A health and safety representative is a specific worker in the workplace who is dedicated to helping support the health and safety of their fellow co-workers and workgroup.
Health and safety representative workers are also known as HSR’s and they must complete a health and safety representative course in order to be employed as one.
What Is The Role Of A Safety Representative?
The role of health and safety representatives includes them researching and investigating accidents and dangerous situations which have taken place.
The health and safety representative then attempts to diagnose the situation and find out how the situation happened. Despite this however, the health and safety representative must be cautious not to interfere with the accident.
What Responsibilities Does A Health And Safety Representative Have In The Workplace?
The responsibilities of a health and safety representative include speaking to the employer and additional safety enforcement agencies about the interests of the employees, potential hazards and other potential health and safety issues that threaten the wellbeing of the employees.
How Do You Become A Health And Safety Representative?
