This course provides students with knowledge of the principles of risk assessment and the skills required to identify hazards, assess risks and identify control and monitoring measures for risks in a given workplace.

 

Course Content

The course focuses on:

  • Understanding the legislative and company structure for managing and assessing risk.
  • Understanding individual responsibilities for managing and assessing risk.
  • Understanding and using a JSA/JHA and the risk assessment matrix.
  • Demonstrating and using the correct forms and procedures for reporting hazards and assessing risk.

 

Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course, students will be able to:

  • Describe the principles of health and safety risk assessment.
  • Apply health and safety risk assessment to a job role in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry good practice.

 

Related training

Competency in US 30265 will be accepted as meeting the hazard management pre- requisite for our Common Permit to Work training.

 

Course structure

The course is a combination of theoretical and practical sessions. Students are assessed continuously during the course.
