Hearing Conservation

Awareness in Occupational Health is one of crucial agenda that requires special attention according to the Occupational Safety & Health Act 1994 (OSHA) and Factory Machinery Act 1967. Most organization are aware of this and include the importance of complying the acts in their company’s policies.

However due to some reasons, many have failed to educate and train their employees and contractor into better performing in their OSH roles and responsibilities. As a result, many organizations have failed to control OSH standards and the place of work causing increases of industrial diseases.

This program attempts to give the organizations to better utilize their efforts in forming a safety & healthy working environment thus reducing occupational related illness at the place of work.

Course Objectives:

• Understand the impact of noise to hearing
• Identify the regulations under the Factories and Machinery Act 1967
• Learn the purposes of the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), the types of hearing protection, advantage, disadvantage, how to select, use and maintain the PPE
• Understand the importance and purpose of the audiometric test and explanation on how the monitoring is done
