According to the 21 st edition, Hindi is the fourth most spoken language in the world. More than 500 million people speak Hindi in the whole world. Hindi is the mother tongue of more than 40% Indian people. Hindi spoken in India now days is known as Maanak Hindi and Hindi is written in Devanagri script.

Hindi is one of the seven languages that are used to make web addresses. Speaking Hindi is easier than other languages because each word has its own sound and the way they are spoken in the same way they are written. The Hindi language has 33 consonants and 11 vowels.

The national language of India is now Hindi, written in the Devanagari script, and September 14 is recognised as Hindi Day or Hindi Divas. The first state to adopt Hindi as its primary language in favour of Urdu was Bihar in 1881.

English has taken many words from Hindi such as avatar, yoga, karma, thug, banglow, guru and vandana. Hindi literature is broadly divided into 4 prominent forms or styles, which are devotional, beauty, epic and modern. Although Hindi is one of the official languages of India but there is no national language of India.
