DurationHip Hop is urban, it’s street, it’s diverse and forever changing. It is a high energy class that uses the latest sounds in RnB and pop music together with movements influenced by some of today’s hottest choreographers.
It includes a wide range of styles primarily breaking, locking, popping, whacking, krumping and Iso, as well as freestyle movement to give the students the opportunity to develop their own sense of style.

We are an exam free dance school, whilst our classes offer structure, technique and skill practice, our main focus is performance and choreography.
All our tutors specialize in their field of dance and most of our classes have two teachers who work as a team so that our students get maximum attention. Every year we work towards an amazing end of year production which is a must-see and is the highlight for all our students.

We teach the New Zealand Association of Modern Dance (NZAMD) and Dance New Zealand Made (DNZM) Hip Hop syllabus for pre grade to senior students.
This class blends all the elements of Hip Hop and Street Funk whilst introducing you to the qualities of Jazz.

Our Hip Hop classes are a combination of modern, world-inspired hip hop and 'old skool' styles, drawing from the many sub-genres of hip hop including tutting and poly-swag.
