A more freestyle form of dance, Hip Hop is an arena for dancers from the ages of 2.5 years and different experiences to incorporate their own style and flavour. With this in mind, there is still a focus on correct technique including body placement and alignment.

Course Details

This is complemented with our Hip Hop Teacher’s up to the minute choreography. Elements of syllabus work is included to provide skill development and structure throughout the term. For senior students, we also have 2 styles of Hip Hop on offer, Urban (hard hitting and strong) & Commercial (often seen in music videos).

Dance Energy Studios headquarters is in the heart of Caloundra. Sprung flooring, air conditioning, student lounge & parent area are some of the amazing physical features at our studio.

We aim to provide an atmosphere that facilitates opportunities for students that wish to join a group as a healthy pastime or for the serious performer.

It is our aim and intent that your child has a wonderful experience in our class as well as the opportunity to find joy in dance. By participating in our classes we believe your child will grow in confidence, discipline, self-esteem, coordination, musicality and rhythm whilst having a fabulous time, in a safe environment.

The Australian Teachers of Dancing syllabus is used at Dance Energy where examinations are offered but not compulsory. Our Acrobatics program is also taught by qualified Acrobatique teachers.

The studio location offers excellent off street parking and back street parking (entrance to studio is via Majola Avenue). Located within a minutes walk of the beach and boardwalk... why not relax with a coffee while your little or big one enjoys learning the art of dance.

Jacqui took her first dance class at the age of 4 and hasn’t looked back since. When she was 17, after a dance trip to Melbourne, she was offered a scholarship with ‘The Edge Full-time Dance’ school in Melbourne, which she took. She spent 2 years in Melbourne training full-time studying everything; Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, Acrobatics, Latin, and Commercial Jazz as well as Singing, Acting and a short course in Aerial Trapeze. After receiving her Certificate 4 in Dance and Diploma of Musical theatre, and dancing professionally in Melbourne she decided to come home to share her knowledge and passion with new dancers and to also grow as a dancer herself. There is nothing that she loves doing more than dancing and is excited to be back home teaching as part of the team.
