We have beautiful dance studios in two inner-Brisbane locations - Milton & Clayfield.
The Premier Dance Academy was established in 1994 by its principal, Tania Whelan. Prior to this time the Academy was well known as The Sayers Dance Centre.
Tania is a fully registered teacher with the Royal Academy of Dancing (R.A.D) after gaining her Teaching Certificate with Distinction and later her Teaching Diploma.
At JGSoD we ensure our staff provide our students with the most current and up to date work in this style. Learning from teachers who have experience and exposure in the industry we pride ourselves on creating versatile dancers.
Class begins with a hip-hop warm-up where students follow the teachers movement, moving on to gentle stretches and dance combinations which are great for fitness. In the last part of the class students will learn a hip-hop dance.
Hip hop dance has a very current vibe to it making it extremely popular toward students, this style is so helpful in teaching dancers the understanding of movements such as isolations, depth, ticking, hitting and release just to name a few.
Our Hip Hop classes are a fun, energetic and are great for both boys and girls, especially those who enjoy strong and hard-hitting dance. The extra special thing about hip hop is that it has the freedom to be creative, and each dancer can work on his or her own signature hip hop style.
