Warm-ups include exercises that promote flexibility, strength, fitness, and isolations and will drill skills across a wide-range of Hip Hop styles and influences.
The session portion of the class will explore a different focus each day, including Popping, Threading, Dance Hall, Light Feet, Dance Party, and Shuffle/House. The Hip Hop Dance Intensive is designed so that students can experience a range of styles and have opportunities to grow individually and with peers.
Urbanity Dance exists to inspire, engage, and empower individuals and communities through the art of dance and movement.
Hip Hop is a grounded, street style form of dance usually performed to hip hop music, or music which emphasizes clear rhythms, beats and/or lyrics.
Students ages 7 and up are invited to join our fun, high-energy Hip-Hop class. Â Age appropriate movement and music are used in this fast-paced class. Â With its roots in street jazz, pop and lock, commercial, and pedestrian styles, Hip Hop is a constantly evolving form of dance.
This class focuses on various hip-hop techniques including popping, locking, and house elements. Students have opportunities to work on their own freestyle abilities. This class builds strength, stamina, and style through contemporary hip-hop movement.
Dancers interested in being a part of the CDA Crew must also be taking a CDA hip hop class.
Hip Hop Dance Class is offered by Uptown Dance Center. Our mission at Uptown is to provide students of all levels with more than just dance classes, but a unique experience in which the student can grow both mentally and physically as a dancer.
