We offer a diverse range of styles and encourage dancers to learn the techniques and train in as many styles as possible.

Universe of Rhythm & Dance was founded in 2007, in Polokwane. We are associated with International Solo Dancesport/Solo Dança Latina and Dancesport.

Our goal is to build a lifelong passion for dance and equip our dancers to have a successful career in the entertainment industry. We offer a diverse range of styles and encourage dancers to learn the techniques and train in as many styles as possible.

Our students are expected to enroll in regular registered exams, and compete in International Solo Dancesport competitions, locally as well as internationally. Our dancers competed in Lá Reunion Island in 2016 and 2017.

We believe that experience shapes your future and encourage our dancers to compete in the Arnold Classics, SACOPA, as well as regional and national Eisteddfods.

There are regular dance camps and workshops with local, as well as international guest teachers.

At Universe of Rhythm & Dance you will also find many opportunities to perform on stage, in-studio showcases, and performing in our local Malls, and other events.

Hello, I am Jouney-Anne Steenkamp, and the love for dancing runs through my veins. I come from a family who is passionate about dancing and teaching dance. I officially started training in Royal Academy of Dance(RAD), with Veronique Naudé as mentor, at the young age of five. I successfully completed all grades up to Advanced II by the time I matriculated. It has been my life long dream to have a career as Ballet Teacher. After finishing school I got introduced to Solo Dança Latina by Mark Dooley, and fell in love with the variety of styles. This opened up a whole new world to me, as I absolutely love performing on stage. I completed training in Solo Energy and Solo Latin, and where the first SDL registered teacher in Limpopo. Later I also completed training in Solo Classic and Solo Street. I am a qualified teacher in Contemporary, Jazz, Ballet & Spanish; Cha Cha Cha, Samba, Paso Doble, Rumba, Salsa & Jive; Energy, Bhangra, Slowstyle & Hip Hop; as well as street styles like animation, krump, pop 'n lock, and beginner breakdancing. I absolutely love working with passionate dancers, and love an energetic and positive vibe in the studio. I offer group classes with a maximum limit of 12 dancers per class, as well as private one on one lessons.
