School Of Modern Dance opened it's doors in January 2013 as a studio for Russian-Speaking Community, where most popular styles were Eastern-European Folk and Ballet.
Throughout the years, we expanded and began to offer classes in Latino Mix, Heels, Hip Hop, Jazz Funk, Caribbean Moves, Vogue, Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical, Contemporary, Stretching, Ballet Barre Fitness and more.
You can take classes for fun or become a part of performing team! We offer classes at our two locations - Kanata South and Bells Corners.
Hip Hop Contemporary fuses the strong movements and fast paced musicality of hip hop with the flow, technique, and emotions of contemporary.
This program will focus on proper technique of various hip hop styles, as well as incorporate the history of hip hop and how it has evolved to what you see in videos today. If you are looking for fun and/or a challenge, try this class!
Students are required to wear a t-shirt or tank top with sweat pants or leggings and indoor sneakers or black jazz shoes.
Hip Hop is fun and energetic! This class focuses on age appropriate hip hop dancing and music that your kids will love. They will not only learn high energy hip hop choreography but basic dance technique as well.
This high energy program will give students the opportunity to learn the latest street-style dance moves. Get ready to try fresh hip hop moves and cutting edge choreography.
