The Higher National qualifications in Computing for England include enhanced work-related curriculum that is designed to address an increasing need for high quality professional and technical education pathways at Levels 4 and 5, equipping students with the right skills and competencies for the workplace, or progression to further higher education study.
The purpose of Pearson BTEC Higher Nationals is to develop students as independent-thinking professionals who can meet the demands of employers and adapt to a constantly changing world. The qualifications aim to widen access to higher education and improve the career prospects of those who take them.
Course Requirements
GCSEs at grade C/4 or above in maths and English language (or equivalent) and BTEC level 3 Ext Diploma at Merit Pass Pass or BTEC Diploma at Merit Merit (or equivalent).
Normal minimum qualifications required for mature entrants (21 years and above) are a recognised Computing Access course or business experience in the computing industry using IT related skills and successful completion of an aptitude assessment in maths and English Language.
Applications from mature students without formal qualifications will be welcomed, especially if you have the motivation to succeed.
