Course Details

This course is designed for workers who are required to lift or move heavy loads.

 

Course content includes:

  • Identify potential rigging hazards

  • Saskatchewan OH&S legislated standards

  • Employer, supervisor and worker responsibilities

  • Calculate load weights and limits

  • Identify fibre rope characteristics and signs of damage

  • Practice tying knots and hitches

  • Identify types of slings, hardware and proper sling configuration

  • Maintenance and inspection of rigging tools and devices

  • Introduction to crane components and capacity

  • Review international hand signal

 

Certification:
This course has 2 written exams, an international hand signals exam, and multiple-choice questions. Participants must achieve 100% on the international hand signal and an overall score of 80% for course certification.
